Our Story

EXPND Music was founded with a clear vision: to create pathways for African artists and creative professionals to grow their global audience while maintaining economic and creative control. We recognized the need for an innovative approach to music distribution and artist development that respects cultural integrity while embracing modern business practices.

Our journey began with a simple observation - African music was gaining global popularity, but African artists weren't always benefiting proportionately from this growth. We set out to change that by building infrastructure that connects talent directly with opportunities.

Our Approach

At EXPND Music, we take a holistic approach to artist development and music distribution:

  • Cultural Stewardship: We maintain the authenticity of African sounds and stories while connecting them with global audiences.
  • Economic Empowerment: Our contracts and partnerships are designed to ensure artists benefit fairly from their work.
  • Strategic Growth: We help artists build sustainable careers, not just momentary success.
  • Innovation: From digital tools to grassroots initiatives like AFRIKA Sings, we blend innovation with intentionality.

Our Team

The EXPND team brings together decades of experience across music, business, and cultural industries. We're artists, entrepreneurs, and advocates who understand both the creative and business sides of the music industry.
